cutting edge competence

Explanation:

cutting edge qualifications

'cutting edge' is good.
'expertise', which is 'sakkunskap' is to narrow to cover the word 'kompetens' which encompasses more like ability to integrate, communicate, develop etc.

cutting-edge expertise

Explanation:
Apologies to my esteemed colleague from Sweden, the term "competence" in English is an HR term specifically defined as "a combination of knowledge, skills and behavior utilised to improve performance. More generally, competence is the state or quality of being adequately or well qualified, having the ability to perform a specific role."

NB "adequately qualified"..in other words, in English it's rather a flat, boring word. Compare "skilful worker" with "competent worker". In Swedish, the term has far more depth of meaning than in English and is far more complimentary, and unfortunately it has also become ubiquitous and much abused. The difference is basically cultural, as Jante's law doesn't allow Swedes to refer to themselves as "experts", only "competent" :)) Thus taking into account cultural and linguistic difference kompetens-competence is a mistranslation. Kompetens - expertise is a far more accurate solution in this context.

PS..I've had this discussion 100x before in Sweden :))
