Swedish to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Share purchase agreement
Swedish term or phrase: krona för krona
I was wondering if someone had a nice solution to translating this in an English translation. I'm trying to come up with something other than "crown for crown" or "dollar for dollar" (since all amounts are in SEK). Instead of "the purchase price shall be adjusted crown for crown" writing "the purchase price shall be fully adjusted".

Thanks for your help.

for every SEK

Explanation:
If the intent here is to say that the price is adjustable for each Swedish krona, maybe the easiest way would be simply to add "for every SEK"?

Example sentence(s):
  • the purchase price should be adjusted for every SEK

krona for krona

Explanation:
Here' a little reading -- the currency involved is often used to designate this kind of purchase price adjustment clause. SEK doesn't work in this context, and while the ratio is 1:1, using the formal term for the currency is really the best way to convey the meaning of your text for lawyers on the other side to understand.

See what you find googling "purchase price adjustment" + "dollar for dollar", or "pound for pound" or "euro for euro".

Explanation:
I think this would be the idiomatic way of putting it. Adjusting a price "krona för krona" means that it's being adjusted in a very detailed way, counting - metaphorically - every single crown. However, the currency itself (whether crowns or dollars) is irrelevant.

My suggestion doesn't fit with the context of the full sentence as now posted. ("Coin by coin" suggests a process, but in the posted context "krona för krona" is only used for emphasizing the exactitude of the correspondence between the purchase price and certain other amounts.)
So, instead I propose the following:
"ska ... justeras krona för krona med ett belopp som motsvarar"
"shall ... be adjusted with an amount that corresponds exactly to"
