Swedish term or phrase: Marelden
"Marelden blir nog svrt om du inte r hr sent i Augusti eller i September."

The previous context was discussing the possiblility of swimming in Sweden on a future visit (to Uddevalla and environs). I initially took "Marelden" to be a town in Sweden, but extensive map searches (on the web) have yielded no such town. If it is a town, I will redouble my search efforts. I realize that you are translators, not geographers.

Mareld come into existence through dinoflagellates, mainly the 2 mm species Noctilu_ca milia_ris. Through movement in the water is started a chemical process, which makes the substance luciferine to emit light under the influence of the enzyme luciferas and oxygen. This is an example of bioluminiscence.
