circuit breaker Explanation: Throughout the web the phrase "ระบบตัดไฟ" or "เครื่องตัดไฟ"is used to refer to circuit breakers / fuse boxes. The full term ระบบตัดต่อไฟ seems less common but doesn't seem to be incorrect as the word ต่อ refers to when the breaker is allowing electricity to flow through as indicated by one person's comment I read saying "สอบถามครับ ติดตั้งเองมาหลายเครื่องแล้ว ล่าสุดพบว่าระบบตัดไฟมันไม่เสถียร ตัดบ้าง ต่อบ้าง เป็นช่วงๆ เลยไม่มั่นว่า...". Without seeing the full context I can't be entirely sure but I feel this would be a more explicit version of what the sentence is saying: "ระบบไฟฟ้าของ xxx ขัดข้อง ระบบตัดไฟของอาคาร xxx จึงตัดไฟทำให้ไฟดับ" (second web reference). Lastly, depending on how large a building this is, other terms may be used such as "main breaker" or "switchgear" but I am not an expert enough in such matters to say. But the basic meaning seems to be circuit breaker. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day 10 hrs (2018-06-13 17:11:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I typed "second web reference" in the wrong place. It should refer to the first Thai sentence (with the bolded text): "สอบถามครับ ติดตั้งเองมาหลายเครื่องแล้ว ล่าสุดพบว่าระบบตัดไฟมันไม่เสถียร ตัดบ้าง ต่อบ้าง เป็นช่วงๆ เลยไม่มั่นว่า..." https://www.google.com/search?q=%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B0%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%94%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%9F&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X& https://www.bloggang.com/mainblog.php?id=kanichikoong&month=08-03-2014&group=17&gblog=14 |
