If I deciphered that explanation correctly, you are referring to being "torpilli", which is one of the translations for "chinless wonder". That is, however, a stretch in my opinion. The term Hellinas asks has more of an abundance, luxury, comfort connotation. Your first suggestion was much better, I think.
