Turkish term or phrase: Ferhad u Mecnun'a sala
Hello, could anyone give a slight explanation about the sentence above? It has an English translation, but I'm not sure if the translator articulates their idea all that well. So hopefully, I can get a better idea of what this line means.

FYI, the English translation is: "My name is lover Galib, salam to Ferhad and Majnun."

This line is among romantic conversations between a couple, to put it in context. My biggest confusion would be the word 'salam'. Does that mean 'greetings' or something else? I would like to understand the cultural meaning of this phrase as well, if that is not too much to ask.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
