As far as I know the only relation with Penye and Turkish textiles is Dogus Penye. I believe it is just simply a name but if this is not the case more information would be greatly appreciated.

metni görmüyoruz ama penyenin buradaki anlamı "örme kumaş" olsa gerek. Penye, aslında örme kumaş kategorisinde bir türün ismidir (en üstün kalitelilerinden biri) ama tekstil sektöründe çalışanlar haricinde, bu tip ince örme kumaşlar "penye" tabir ediliyor. Sanırım köken olarak, Fransızca "peigne" kelimesinden gelme.
