Turkish term or phrase: Adamı yakar
A colleague tells me that in Turkish, there is a saying "Adamı yakar !" or "yakıcı" which can mean sexy and yet "Ortalığı yakıp yıkan..." can mean "harry i.e: with hot temper". This is in the context of the ambiguity in English of the word 'hot' meaning 'sexy' & 'hot' meaning 'quickly aroused to anger'. Of course, this is a follow-up to my last question about 'with her legs as hot as her temper.
What does 'adamı yakar/yakıcı' mean? Why is it adamı & not adam? Is it the object? In which case 'it/she/he sets the man alight' is nonsense.
