Before any technical translation I study the terminology of the specific field, and create a comprehensive terminology database. I will, of course, pay particular attention to use of any terms you identify that have specialized use. I am able to deliver a better translation into Russian than a Russian translator living abroad. Living abroad, you can't keep up with your dynamically changing native language. Moreover, each day you actually lose some of your linguistic skills. Another point - living in Moscow, I can easily contact any Russia-based specialist or terminologist. To determine precise terminology and ensure an accurate translation, reference materials cannot replace such "live" consultations.
