I am an electronic technician, but when I was studying Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso ( UTEP ) some issues brought me back to Mexico, where I change my major into English. In 1989, I worked for the first time as a consecutive interpreter for Ford, Motorola, Altec, and Stanley. I worked translating, from English into Spanish, hundreds of manuals for those and other companies too. During the first decade of the 21st century, I worked as an independent consecutive interpreter for different churches and in 2002, I began a major in English-Spanish-Spanish-English translation, English literature, and English teaching. Since 2007, I have worked as a teacher and translator at college level. I have recently worked for Interceramic and the Sirloin Stockade, InterWin, Mazu Global, Syscom, the government of Chihuahua State, Dana de Mexico, Instituto Nacional de Migracion INM (Mexican National Immigration Department), American Industries, FOKKER, CESSNA and some lawyers.

By a degree in English Translation, English literature teaching and English teaching, I mean, studying for 4 and a half years 62 subjects, 95% of which were taught in English as were our homeworks, tests, and presentations. We read about 120 plus books during our major. Our classes were taught by either Masters or PhDs.

I chose to study this major because I have always liked languages. So, when I went to study at the University of Texas at El Paso (( UTEP )), my main goal was to learn English, which is one of my favorite languages. I love translation because it makes me learn more about other people"s cultures, technologies and it makes me learn more about the world we live in.

During 2010, I wanted to go back into full time translation, but because I have learn that sometimes it is too much job for a single translator; I decided to become an outsourcer as well. Thus, I have joined a group of professional people, who by 2011 I have selected just the best leaving now a smaller team but with a lot of experience. We have 1 BA, 2 engineers, 2 Masters, and 2 PhDs with different fields of knowledge. I have a BA in English translation, English literature, and English Teaching. I have an electronics engineer who has worked in translation for 21 years, a mechanical engineers who has also worked in translation for 21 years. a Master whose passion is translating English literature books and poetry into Mexican Spanish, a PhD in second language acquisition, who has worked for 25 years translating legal and technical documents, and PhD who translate English, French or German into Mexican Spanish. She works with literature and technical documents too. We have in our database many other translators from Europe and Asia. I have eliminated all the BAs in Spanish Letters and I have replace all with a couple a Master in teaching and his wife a BA in English translation; he has worked as an edition, literature, and proofreading professor at college level. I am still testing DSL Trados 2009.
