[View Powwow Report] powwow: Informal networking event

Hello all,

Time for another get-together!

I have reserved an area in the Cumberland Bar on Cumberland Street in the New Town from 8 pm. We'll be in the back room so head straight to that area. If you've never met any of us before you should be able to recognise us from some of our photos. Ask at the bar for the translators' meeting if you're stuck.

Info about the bar here:

As always, this will be more of an informal networking event than anything else, but please come armed with questions for the more experienced and established amongst us if you want, or tales of your latest job/client/CAT tool. And let your translator friends know!

If you have not yet had your identity verified, I have the authority to verify identities and can do so at the powwow. Remember to bring photo ID. Only people whose real names are shown on their profile can have their identity verified. It would be useful if you had a note of your profile URL as well.

Looking forward to seeing all the regulars as well as some new faces. All welcome!

Sad to have missed the powwow Sep 26, 2010

I'm new to Pro Z and was hoping there would be a powwow I could come to in Scotland. I've jsut read today that there was one in Edinburgh ealier this week. I'm sad to have missed out on it - what bad luck that it was only a few days ago!

Will there be another powwow in Edinburgh this year? Thanks.

More powwows Sep 27, 2010

Hi Amy,

Don't worry, we will certainly have another powwow this year, probably in November. There are also plans afoot to organise a Christmas dinner for Edinburgh-based translators.

Watch this space!

Thanks Sep 28, 2010

Thanks Becky.

I've just started (trying to!) work as an interpreter/translator here in the UK - I was living in South Amwerica until earlier this year - so the powwow would be a great and very welcomed opportunity for me to meet people.

I'll keep watching this space for news icon_smile.gif
