I translate from French, Portuguese and Spanish into English in the legal, economic, and general fields as pertain to international organizations such as the ACP, EU,OAU,UNECA and ADB, to name but a few.
Having worked as English Translator (French and Portuguese into English)from 1969 to 1986 (17 years), I passed the European Union Revisers competition to become an English Reviser and Head of the English Translation Department of the ACP Secretariat in Brussels, (African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States), a counterpart of the European Union, until August 2004 (19years).
Besides my translation qualifications, I completed an MA course in International Relations at the ULB in Brussels in 2000 but was unable to sit the exams owing to the negotiations of the ACP-EU Convention and Partnership Agreements which required numerous travels outside Brussels.
At the moment I do freelance work for the African Development Bank and the United Nations Ecconomic Commission for Africa.
I have prepared a glossary of difficult terms and phrases for translators and University lectures due to be published soon.
