My name is Monica, I have worked in the uk since 93, I call myelf a bilingual as my aunt is English and lived with her in Italy since I was small. I was born in Siracusa (Sicily) but have lived in many different parts of Italy, particularly Tuscany. I studied English in Italy (university of Benedettini), and then continued in the uk at Colchester Institute and Essex university in Essex. I now live in Kent but travel extensively especially to Italy for some of my freelance interpreting jobs
I also work as a language teacher in Kent and London.
In 98 I lived in Japan for about 6months. There I worked as an Italian teacher and did some interpreting work for a wine testing company. I work for a company in Norwich as a translater and interpreter and have covered various topics from resins, to advertising and shops translation. I am interested in increasing my work using my language skills.
I have been translating since I arrived in the uk but professionally for 10 years now. I have translated web sites, tourist brochures, technical texts. My specializations is especially in legal and retails as I have worked for clients with property in italy.
I gained additional insights into the translation industry by taking an online course on translation business practices.
My home office computer equipment includes 1 laptop with daily backups, high speed Internet access, Omega-T CAT tool. With each freelance project I undertake, I guarantee high quality work delivered on or before deadline and prompt response to your phone calls and e-mails.
My hobbies are phisical theatre, dance and travels.
