My first degree is in French and German Language and Literature(M.A.(Hons.) from Glasgow University in 1989). As part of my degree I studied Italian and later completed a Certificate of Continuing Education in Italian from Strathlyde University in 1998. I have worked as a qualified teacher of Modern Languages (French,German and Italian)since 1990. I returned to postgraduate study in 2003, obtaining the MSc degree in Translation Studies (with distinction) from Edinburgh University in 2005. After graduating I gained experience of working in a Glasgow publishing and translation company where I was involved in translation work, proofreading and editing of language dictionaries in French, German and Italian. At present I work as a part-time teacher of modern languages and also undertake work as a freelance translator and proofreader. I am an Associate member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting(GB). |
