I've been a certified translator for the state of Espírito Santo since 1990. Being a certified translator means that I have to be able to translate just about everything. This is the reason why I never did specialize in any particular area. On the other hand, most of my jobs involve contracts, civil registry certificates, and academic documents, so I consider myself a specialist in those areas.
I have a Licentiate Degree in Portuguese and English (PUC-RJ) and while living in London for 5 years I passed all three translation exams of the Institute of Linguists with Merit and Distinction.
I've been an English teacher since I graduated in 1980 and I specialized in the teaching of Reading for Academic Purposes. I teach students individually and in small groups, and groups of students and teachers of the EMESCAM College of Medicine in Vitória-ES, where I live.
As a certified translator, my prices are fixed by the JUCEES (http://www.jucees.es.gov.br), but for other types of job price depends on aspects such as urgency, number of words, and the language involved. Please write to me for a quotation.
I'm a full-time teacher and translator and I look forward to your contact.
