Source text - English I’m really excited to report not just on where our English congregation has been, but where it is going as well. Briefly, the English congregation has grown. Looking back at last year’s report, it’s pretty incredible to see how God has been leading and shaping this congregation over the past year. I’m estimating that our English congregation has now grown to about 100 people. We have at least 70-80 people each week in the English service, but there are another 20 or so who come off and on, or only attend our cell groups.
But the real heart of a church’s growth is not found solely in the numbers. Rather it is found in the spiritual development of individuals within the congregation. It is hearing the stories of God’s goodness and grace touching and transforming lives more and more into his image. I imagine that we are all along a journey, and God brings different people at different times into the BCEC community, to learn, to grow, to be healed, to be equipped, to be restored, or to be challenged. And in the same way, our own community begins to expand and grow as God leads.

Bio
I am currently working as a Structural Engineer in UK. I have been a part time interpreter in the past, when I was studying for my degree and PhD in Civil Engineering. I have on stage translation experience from church activities, often translating sermon from Mandarin to Cantonese or English and vice versa.
My native language is Mandarin, but I can also speak fluent English, Cantonese, Malay and have achieve an intermediate level in both writing and conversational Japanese.
I am interested in working as a freelance translator, to gain different experiences in a new career and to fully utilise my multi-language skills in doing something different from my full time work as an engineer.
