The Literacy Consultants Translation Team
English to Spanish & Spanish to English

The Literacy Consultants translation team, based in the United State of America, includes a native speaker of English from the United States, a native speaker of Spanish from Latin America, and a native speaker of Spanish from Spain. All team members speak, read and write both languages. All team members have university degrees and language teaching experience.

Translations into English are rendered in Standard English.

All translations into Spanish follow to Spanish Royal Academy standards for grammar and syntax.

Translations into Spanish for use in Latin America and the United States follow generally accepted and broadly used Latin American vocabulary, prevailing Latin American customs regarding the formal and informal forms of address, and are free from regional and indigenous word and expressions.

Translations into both languages are free from idioms and slang.

Our team takes great care to insure that translations are culturally sensitive.

All translation work is done with the needs and abilities of the proposed readers in mind. Our team is particularly sensitive to the literacy levels, in both English and Spanish, of Spanish speaking communities in the United States and Canada.

Beautifully written English materials translated into flawless academic Spanish may prove unreadable by your target audience. Therefore, if written English is being translated into written Spanish, the English will frequently need to be first rewritten in the appropriate literacy level in English and then translated into Spanish.
