Italian to English: The strategic importance of marketing communication in the SMEs:the case of XXX Spa General field: Marketing Detailed field: Telecom(munications)
Source text - Italian 1.
Translation - English 1. Purpose and methodology of research.
In the traditional marketing approach, communication is the operational tool that distinguishes the products to the consumers. In this approach, communication is linked to a successional series of tools activated in a single way by the enterprise, in order to avoid price competition and to increase and turn the demand. However this operative aspect of communication has been studied for the Large Enterprises (LE) and it doesn’t reflect the SMEs life. In that kind of enterprises, communication plays an important role, because it weighs on the capital trust, on the company knowledge heritage, on the company credit, on the brand name, on the company policy and finally on the company abilities to develop relationships both with customers and suppliers. Therefore, communication means to increase the company immaterial resources heritage at the bottom of a timeless competitive profit acquisition.
The aim of this paper is to reflect on all the above-mentioned aspects and to provide an interpretative and descriptive contribute concerning communication problems in SMEs, particularly on the practical use and on the effective role played by the Internet in the communication process both in domestic communication and with the market.
This research focuses on the case of XXX Spa, a clothing and shoe manufacture industry. The enterprise is a SME that addresses its supply to customers (normal retailers, small chain’s distribution, etc.) that has been using the Internet as communication tool for some time, in order to manage its internal and external communication processes.
Data collected from the study of the company case allowed to emphasize several aspects related to the use and the role of the Internet as a communication tool. Such aspects are summarized in the final part of this work and rediscussed according to some theoretical and practical aspects in order to understand the close relationship between research and management challenges. The reflections carried out can be useful to raise the interest of both business scholars and managers into the field of communication.
