I was born and raised in Brazil. My father is a retired Army man (a poet in his spare time), Mom is a retired librarian, and my grandfather Jandyr Cesar Sampaio was a renowned writer and prosecutor. That is perhaps one of the the reasons why I've always loved dealing with languages.
I have been gifted in languages since I was a child, when I playfully found out I could listen to the newscasters on TV or songs on the radio and render a "simultaneous interpretation" of what they were saying backwards (I speak fluent Portuguese backwards also...!). I have chosen this job because I find such a pleasure in doing so, knowing that I can perform it wondrously.
I have worked for several companies as a Freelancer, in an array of exciting assignments that include Voice-Over projects, Consecutive Telephonic Interpretation (currently working for Cyracom International as a Portuguese and Spanish interpreter), New Jersey Judicial System (courts and Trenton Psychiatric Hospital), development of intuitive language learning software programs (Mango Languages), major proofreading assignments, teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL, at CCLS New Jersey).
I believe in being dynamic, always willing to learn as well as continually perfecting my skills. I am a "passive job seeker" in the sense that I am satisfied with the current full-time job I have at a major US bank, although I've decided I want to look into steering my career towards the original direction (languages). I will definitely consider a more exciting opportunity, especially one that makes better use of my language, leadership, motivational, creative and communication capabilities!
