Having a degree in Russian language and having taught English in Moscow for the last two years, I have a distinct understanding of the intricacies of both languages. This includes the typical mistakes most native Russian speakers make when translating into English. I have a great awareness of both educated language and less intellectual, but just as culturally relevant, colloquial language including slang.
In general, my translation experience has been from Russian into English. The documents and articles I've translated range from resumes, academic articles focused on computer programming, medical brochures advertising cosmetology as well as government documents. My university training was based around literary translation.
