Bio
Being a very curious and active person, I'm always into learning something new, through any means available: work, leisure or travel. I've been abroad several times, particularly during school time and university, and I keep travelling to new places whenever I get the chance to. Some of my closest relatives are American and currently living in the U.S., which gives me the opportunity to frequently come and go overseas. Actually, it's because of this close relationship I had the opportunity to grow bilingual English-Italian and probably it is thanks to being a natural at both languages that choosing to learn other languages on the way, from junior school on, seemed to me like a natural choice. My first job experiences introduced me to many specific uses of the languages I had studied at school, and launched my career as a translator at the same time. Therefore, I had the opportunity to form my expertise on each specific field I mention in my attached CV. Eventually, becoming a full-time freelance translator has just come out as the perfect completion to my studies, journeys and early working experiences. I find one of the best traits of this job is the chance of always learning something new both in terms of languages and new fields of expertise. Consequently, I am currently into learning more languages to expand my knowledge: in fall 2011 I will begin a Dutch and a Swedish course.
I am the blessed mother of two beautiful and healthy little children who are currently absorbing most of my free time. However, in order to keep track of the beautiful and daily evolving experience of parenthood, I have a personal blog I update as frequently as possible and can be followed on Parents in Progress. I find the chance to exchange views and experiences with other parents around the world extremely valuable. Working home gives me the greatest opportunity ever: I can do the job I like the most and follow my children in their early years at the same time.
I am also into new technologies and particularly curious about the evolving phenomena of social networks. I have a profile on the major ones, including the latest Google+, but I still find Twitter to be the best around.
As a passionate reader, I never miss the chance of reading a new book every month. I am also a lot into cinema and American TV series which I follow constantly throughout the American TV seasonal programming.
