Translation - English Forward (from the book “The Farce of the Human Mind” by Dr. Ali Al-Wardi)
I wrote this book as separate chapters at different times, following the publication of my last book, "The Sultans’ Preachers."
These chapters do not cover a single topic, and it may be construed that they were written under the influence of the uproar that arose around my last book. I speculate that they will please some people and anger others.
I do not seek to please all people, for pleasing people is an unattainable goal, according to the old saying. My purpose is to open the door for the readers to consider and debate. For truth, in reality, is the daughter of research and discussion.

Ibrahim I Ibrahim is an Iraqi-Canadian freelance professional translator based in Montreal, Canada, since 1990. He was born in Baghdad where he attended Baghdad College, a high-school operated by New England Jesuits, which gave him a good base of understanding the English language, in addition to strengthening his native Arabic. He spent 6 years in England where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of London. A brief return to Iraq was followed by a long stay in Kuwait, where he worked for IBM for 19 years, and the Kuwait Computer Company (KCC) for 2-1/2 years. He and his family moved to Canada in 1989/1990, where he worked for a local Information Technology company (CTI Datacom) for over 10 years, before focusing on recruitment and, more recently, translation, through his own company.
Ibrahim has been involved in translation and interpretation from Arabic into English, and vice versa, throughout his professional life. Since 2009, he has focused his energies on this activity and successfully completed numerous mandates for individuals, corporations and international organizations in many fields. He is quite comfortable in both languages (English and Arabic), computer savvy, and able to handle general and technical text.
