I have translated technical documents (manuals, Web sites, help files, etc.) since 1992 on a full-time basis. My main areas of specialization are: computers (hardware and software), electronics, and telecommunications. I've worked on any document format, from HTML pages and MS PowerPoint or Lotus FreeLance presentations to plain text, MS Word or Corel WordPerfect documents, plus SGML and Bookmaster texts.
Besides common word-processing software, I use advanced computer-aided translation tools, including IBM Translation Manager (since the first release, in 1994), which ensures consistency and productivity. I developed a number of translation memories and online dictionaries in this application, from proved terminology sources. Also, I occasionnally provide support for IBM Translation Manager and translating strategies.
Companies whose I translate materials include IBM, Bell Canada and other telcos, and Canadian National Railways.
I settled in Quebec (Canada) in 1990, coming from France.
