Hebrew to English: Hezbollah Attack Tunnels Destroyed in Metula Region

IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Ronen Manelis reported today (Thursday) that the IDF had completed the destruction of tunnels stemming from the village of Kila and crossing over to Israeli territory in the Metula region. Throughout the operation, IDF forces poured cement and other materials into the tunnels. The flow of materials and cement into Lebanese territory serves as unequivocal evidence that the terrain exposed within Israeli territory leads to the village of Kila.

Manelis describes the opening of one of the tunnels disguised as a brick factory, while Hezbollah claims it is a chicken coop. Cement and other materials flooded the building, and materials coming out through additional openings are now flowing through the village.

The IDF states that, in some cases, Hezbollah attempted to block the shafts from the Lebanese side; however, the pressurized technique used to insert the material was able to push through the obstructions, which failed to prevent the flow of materials.

Manelis concluded by saying that the operation is still well underway and that at least a few more weeks would be needed for the sake of locating and destroying all the tunnels.
