The majestic aplomb of Eongher, also our initial mission
The historical beginning
Earthiness demonstrating the spirit of hospitality
Construction construes cultural torch passing
The quality of construction starts from the vigorous material selection
Eongher has its beginning in construction materials. It has sufficient experiences and professional knowledges with the selection and cognizance of construction materials. Construction in not merely building but rather “improving the environment.”It’s blending the buildings into the overall design and placing emphasis on the quality and functions of the space. With minimalism concept, it is tangibly demonstrated in the minimizing of construction material consumption. It takes into consideration the durability and low maintenance cost of the materials in order to achieve the architecture spirit of energy saving and carbon emission reduction.

Source text - English When the Greek messenger Pheidippides was sent to Athens to announce the Persian’s defeat in the battle of Marathon, he ran the entire distance without stopping, burst into the Athenian assembly delivered the news and died on the spot. Fun Run is his story.
Fun Run is not just an homage to Pheidippides, but a performance spectacle that pushes one man to the limits of his endurance. Artist Tristan Meecham runs a gruelling 42.2kms on a treadmill supported by massive visual effects, a booming soundtrack, a silky-voiced MC and hundreds of performers and athletes from the local community. Fun Run is a huge public event that really has it all – bouncing pom-poms, bulging muscles, cyclist’s calves and a flash mob that will have everyone moving.
“And it was fun. What fun. You could hear it from blocks away. But what made this event so curiously subversive was the lack of cues that clued us in that it was Art. Countless passersby wondered what they were watching – a charity event? A corporate stunt? A sporting spectacle? It was all of these things, kind of, or parodies of each. It definitely involved the city in a truly remarkable way, and as the sun set and the runner entered the final leg of the race the atmosphere was electric among onlookers still none the wiser as to why they were even there. A gold medal affair” John Bailey, The Age Newspaper, Australia
“Aviator sunglasses and nipple pasties aren’t normal pieces of marathon running equipment but this performance succeeded in amalgamating durational performance practices of the 1970’s (while injecting them with humour), subversive gender antics, a critique of celebrity culture (his self-positioning as a rock star-like protagonist with a hero’s narrative ‘arc’ follows on the heels of marathon-running celebrities such as Oprah and P Diddy) and an examination (or was it pure celebration) of public spectacle (some 7000 people are estimated to have seem the CBD performance, the vast majority of whom would presumably not have known of the event beforehand)” Dylan Rainforth- Artlink Magazine Australia.

Translation - English Revitalizing through the arts
The inauguration of the National Taichung Theater (NTT) makes us ecstatic. Starting today, we can relish more pleasure and surprise brought by theatrical art with our daily life in central Taiwan.
Art development is the eventual destination for any city. As the nation is charging ahead with industry and financial upgrade, the humanities must march too. The emergence of the NTT at this juncture couldn't have been timed better. While the opening season fervor is blaring, we invited the most celebrated veterans around the nation to use performance arts to create a new wave of Taiwan miracle. We suffer the inevitable remorse that many troupes can't join this wagon due to scheduling conflict, but these regrets will be ameliorated by time and we invite you to anticipate the next season.
All the artists congregating during the opening are highly revered national treasures. On behalf of the NTT, I pay our whole-hearted respect and gratitude. LIAO Chiung-chih, Ara Kimbo HU, QIU Kun-liang, ZHU Zong-qing, WEI Hai-min, TANG Mei Yun, WU Nien-jen, WANG An-chi etc. bring the most delicate and moving works to Taichung. Whether traditional or modern, these works are intricately crafted and vividly rendered. Performance arts is the diamond of the arts industry-- flawlessly cut at each faucet so that it can radiate brilliance. It's truly our blessing to be able to enjoy these glittering works of arts.
The international program kicks off with a Wagner opera. The NTT and the National Symphony Orchestra join force to represent the National Performing Arts Center to offer our sincere tribute-- tribute to arts, tribute to Taiwan, tribute to all the people in central Taiwan. It's the NTT's sacred mission to deliver polished arts performance to serve central Taiwan people. We adapted an innovative production from Spain, with artists in the future performing the musical notes from 150 years ago. Can you not say that the theater allows human wisdom to propagate and civilization to accumulate?
Other international programs feature flawless and precise interpretation with the idea of arts innovation. The various performances from France, Germany, Britain and India, each boast strong characteristics from its cultural entity and yet together convey universal humanity values. These works convey that: eclectic or monotonous, these two qualities always embrace each other and march in parallel in the theater.
Theater arts can not exist outside social context; it is the mirror of the contemporary society. We can't ignore the innovation of our cultural counterparts in literature and cinema. The former is the cultural foundation of a country while the latter is the industry trailblazer. Literature and cinema are confidants of the NTT. We won't shy away from showcasing the best of their feats.
The NTT belongs to the next generation. The present is performed for the sake of the future. Please embrace the NTT and let your children treat the theater as a playground. Then, arts will become their most steadfast confidant for generations to come.
