Spanish to English: Radiculopatía
Cono medular normalmente localizado.

History:
Radiculopathy
Technique:
Axial and sagittal T1- and T2-weighted sequences and coronal T2-weighted sequences were performed.
Findings:
Loss of height and intensity of normal signal in the intervertebral discs evaluated for osteochondral changes.
At L2-L3, L3-L4, and L4-L5, bulging of the fibrous ring is shown, indenting the thecal sac and, combined with hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum and articular facets, narrowing the vertebral canal, especially at the L4-L5 level.
Likewise, there is a narrowing of the intervertebral foramina due to bulging of the fibrous ring and hypertrophy of the articular facets, which finding is most obvious at L4-L5, towards the left side.
The visualized portion of the spinal cord is normal.
Medullary cone in normal location.
Hypertrophy, irregularity, sclerosis, and osteophytic formations in the L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1 articular facets due to facet-joint osteoarthritis.
No change in paravertebral muscles and soft tissues.
Hyperintense images at the right-kidney level compatible with cortical cysts. Bilateral renal pelvic dilatation.

Translation - English Bioprospecting
Bioprospecting is the systematic search for chemical compounds, genes, microorganisms, macro organisms and other natural products that may hold valuable potential for use in the pharmaceutical, agricultural and biotechnology industries.
Scientists began to develop six research projects in this field:
Alternative biological control methods for dengue bearing mosquitoes.
Marine organisms (sea sponges) as new sources of natural products.
Feasibility study on lactoserum (the aqueous phase that separates from whey in cheesemaking).
Design of a molecular technique to distinguish tarantulas (Sericopelma).
Bacteria in the digestive tract of humming birds as a source of new enzymes.

1. Introduction
The European Regional Information Society Association
There has been growing interest within the European union in developing the information society at the regional level and from a regional perspective. In 1994, six European regions agreed with the European Commission to implement a Pilot Action in which they would work collaboratively in Europes first regional Information Society network known as the Inter-Regional Information Society Initiative (IRISI). Following the success of this pre-pilot action, in 1996 the European Commission launched the Regional Information Society Initiative (RISI) - a larger pilot action involving 22 of Europes less favoured regions. This pilot scheme has encouraged the development of consensus and partnership amongst key regional players around a Regional Information Society Strategy and Action Plan.

Spanish to English: Las Palmas
Source text - Spanish
As a gift, the palm is in itself a significant unit in a system of non-verbal communication: its height expressed the measure of the sentiment of affection that the man declared he felt for his fiancie. Hence it was quite a widespread custom that the parma di la zita (fiancie's palm) was at least as high as her. In the sphere of ties with relatives and friends, and the social sphere in general, the giving of a palm was often equivalent to sending signals fraught with motivations and intentions: they might serve to reinforce a tie between neighbours, to formalise a relationship between godfathers, to express the will to make one's peace or simply be a gesture of solidarity. It was almost always part of the complex set of phenomena of exchanges on which the dense network of relations in the community was based. But over and above what it represented and repreesents, the palm - devotional trophy or metaphor of social messages - was and remains the product of an origin and refined art of plaitin, in which it is possible to identify precise typological constants, though within the multiplicity of variants in signs and forms which make each branch something truly unique.

Bachelor's degree - UNIVERSITY OF ALMERIA
Experience
Years of experience: 25. Registered at ProZ.com: Sep 2005.
I am from Spain and have been living in London for over five years.
I have a degree in English Filology. After that, I went on to make a post graduate translation course for another year. I have a long experience in translation (nine years). I have translated many different fields: from literature to pharmaceutics and science. I am very confident working with both: literary-linguistic texts and tecnical-scientifical ones, though, as a man of letters, I preffer working with humanistic texts. Especially, I love literature.
I work full time as a translator, therefore I can undertake a huge amount of work in a relatively short period of time. Though I live in London, I would consider relocation.
