I am a sworn translator English-Dutch with a paramedical background. I had worked as a physical therapist for nine years before becoming a translater. Therefore, my spezialization is in the field of medicine in general but I am a super specialist in the areas physical therapy, ENT and audiology. My knowledge in these last two areas is due to the fact that I work part-time in the University Medical Center Utrecht on the ENT department.
I have a diploma of higher education in Physical Therapy (1974)and for translating Dutch-English and English-Dutch a state certificate (1987). I have been working as a freelance translator for the publishers Bohn Stafleu VanLoghum (Houten), Archipel (Amsterdam) and H.J.W. Becht (Haarlem). For these publishers I have translated scientific articles in the field of physical therapy and books for the general public on massage and how to deal with chronical pain.
Furthermore I have translated for Delft Instruments (Delft) and Cochlear AG (Basel). For Cochlear I have translated manuals, instruction videos and brochures for patients and professionals in the field of cochlear implants.
