I am a native speaker of Croatian, fluent in English and Spanish. My fields of specialisation are legal translation and business, computers and IT (general), and marketing, and my interests include sports and the fitness industry.
In 1997, I graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, Croatia, with a degree in English and Spanish.
After graduation I was employed in 1997 as a translator in a law firm, which was the beginning of my specialisation in legal English.
In 2005, I became a freelance translator and since then have worked for various clients, including the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, the Central Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU Funds, the Judicial Academy, to name but a few.
I hold a number of international certificates of linguistic proficiency, such as the International Legal English Certificate (University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations), the Certificate of Proficiency in English (University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations), and DELE (Diploma Básico de Español como Lengua Extranjera).
Since 2006, I have attended a number of training sessions for legal English on various topics, including Basics of EU Law, An Introduction to LSP (Law), Legal Translation and Terminology, Advanced Presentation Skills, An Introduction to Forensic Linguistics, Intercultural Communication, Legal and Linguistic Aspects of Multilingualism.
I also hold the stamp of certified translator/interpreter for the English and Spanish languages.
I take my job very seriously and am able to assure clients that if I take on an assignment it will be done professionally and on time.
Regarding pricing, my fees are flexible, as the price of translation may vary depending on the extensiveness of the project (in terms of the number of pages or the opportunity for long-term co-operation), deadlines or other specific requirements.
