I’m a freelance translator (Chinese-English bilingual); my translation-related experiences include (just to hightlight):
Translation and proofreading of the English-Chinese translation of _War of the Worlds: Cyberspace and the Tech-tech assault on Reality_ (original by Mark Slouka, Chinese edition published by Jiangxi Education Press, 1999).
Internal PR newsletter writer and reporter for GE Women’s Networking Conference (Beijing, 2005)
Translation of LEED rating systems documents for AECOM Consulting (2008)
Translation of _Bannong on Photography_ (modern China’s first monograph on photography by Liu Bannong, Chinese original published c. 1927 and English edition forthcoming).
Translator/interpreter/project coordinator for Cyclic Incubator of Rural Co-ops, an innovative development project directed by Rural Reconstruction Center, Renmin University of China (August~November 2008, Beijing & Hebei Province).
I took my BA in English and MA in Applied Linguistics from Tsinghua University. I’m good at translating social sciences and culture-related texts. I work hard, professionally, and with responsibility.
During my spare time, I work as a volunteer for projects involving rural reconstruction and popular education for the disadvantaged in China, especially peasants and migrant workers.
