Your blood contains cells that carry your DNA. This DNA contains genes that code for the thousands of proteins within your body. This is a gene which helps the body produce an enzyme in the liver called CYP2C19. The enzyme is known to play a role in how the body processes X, one of the drugs in this study. The information from studying your CYP2C19 gene and those of other subjects in the study may help explain individuals’ different responses to X. The buccal swab samples collected in this study for CYP2C19 genotyping will be sent to Gentris, a laboratory in the USA with experts in the field of genetics. Your DNA will be extracted from the cells in your buccal swab samples and used to test for specific forms of the CYP2C19 gene. The laboratory uses a method called Taqman allelic discrimination to study the CYP2C19 gene. This procedure will specifically analyze the portion of your DNA that contains the blueprint for the CYP2C19 enzyme and will test for what form of the enzyme your gene will produce. The results of this gene analysis will be used for research purposes only. They will not affect your health or your medical care and will not be given to you. It is the responsibility of the investigator to have prospective approval of the study protocol, protocol amendments, informed consent forms, and other relevant documents, e.g., recruitment advertisements, if applicable, from the IRB/IEC. All correspondence with the IRB/IEC should be retained in the Investigator File. Copies of IRB/IEC approvals should be forwarded to X.
The only circumstance in which an amendment may be initiated prior to IRB/IEC approval is where the change is necessary to eliminate apparent immediate hazards to the patients. In that event, the investigator must notify the IRB/IEC and X in writing immediately after the implementation.

Исследователь отвечает за утверждение IRB/IEC протокола исследования, поправок к протоколу, форм информированного согласия и других имеющих отношение к исследованию документов, например, объявлений о наборе пациентов, если применимо. Вся переписка с IRB/IEС должна храниться в папке исследователя. Копии разрешений от IRB/IEC должны быть направлены в компанию X.
