My name is Tamara and I am a Spanish girl living in the UK since September 2006.
Ever since I was 6 years old and started having English lessons at school, my passion for this language kept growing and growing, until I decided to study English at University. My goal was to become a translator. On my last year I went as Erasmus Student to the University of Kent in Canterbury, to improve my English and widen my studies. That is when I realized I wanted to live in this country as well as to be able to become a proper translator. It has not been easy though, because when I came to live here the economy crisis had just started, and finding a job was a complete nightmare. However, I am getting there with baby steps and showing everyone that I can really do this and, above all, that I am good at it.
The fact that I love this language is what makes me want to improve it more everyday, keep reading and writing and speaking in English and even performing my pronunciation in order to speak it properly. I never get stuck with something but try to learn more, improve, study even if necessary, so the different projects I do have the standards required and are even better if possible.
I am a bookworm and, as a linguist, finding translations in Spanish that sound completely horrible, or even seeing misspellings or grammar mistakes, is another reason why I wanted to become a proofreader too, so those mistakes cannot happen and can be avoided as well.
Good thing is that not everything is books for me, though I really enjoy them. I also listen to music, go out with my friends, watch movies and play some sports when I have time.
