Learning foreign languages has always been my great passion. My student years, especially three years spent at UNESCO Chair, studying communication and translating, made me sure that working with languages is exactly the thing I would like to do in my life. I had a chance to get knowledge essential for any linguist, such as translation theory, its historical background, general knowledge about writing texts, literature styles, Polish grammar rules, etc. Besides that, I attended practical classes involving practical rendering, creative writing or using CAT tools and Internet resources in a translator's work. During last few years I have completed an internship in a translation agency and I have also been working as a freelance translator.
Meanwhile, I have also graduated from Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language which gave me an opportunity to experience working in an intercultural environment. I am still continuing this adventure spending few hours every day with my Spanish, English, American or Arabic students. Usually it is not only teaching them, but also exchanging interesting stories, customs and, in this way, getting to know the world and my own culture better.
At the moment I am working as a freelance QA specialist in a prestigious Polish translation company where I have seen how the work in the translation industry really looks like. I have learned how to manage my tasks and how to stay professional and provide high quality services working under the time pressure. That valuable experience gave me courage to look for another opportunities to develop myself |
