I am a freelance journalist turned lexicographer and translator.
My lexicographic work consists in editing the leading Maltese-English Dictionary of Prof. J. Aquilina, the leading scholar of Maltese, and then in my collaboration with him in the compilation and production of his English-Maltese dictionary which I edited and completed after his demise.
My journalistic career entailed a lot of translation work, but since 1994 I have, in the main, been engaged in technical translation for the Malta Standards Authority, various Maltese Government Ministries, Authorities, etc., for Malta's leading insurance company, for the Central Bank of Malta, the Bank of Valletta Ltd, Malta's largest bank, and the Malta Financial Services Ltd
I have also ran translation courses for Lecixom (Malta).
My translation work for the Malta Standards Authority meant the rendering from English into Maltese of all CEN and CENELEC, and a number of ISO, standards, besides Maltese legal translation of technical legislation.
I have also translated from Italian into English or Maltese for the Malta Government.
I was also appointed literary editor of the latest official translation of the Bible into Maltese.
My latest exacting work was the pre-Budget document published by the Maltese Govt and the State of the Environment report for the Malta Environmental and Planning Authority.
Pricing ranges from $12 per 1500 characters (no spaces) upwards depending on nature of work.
