CV/Resume CV/Resume (PDF)

After having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Havana and the Diplôme de Traduction Supérieure Français-Espagnol at the Alliance Française, I worked as a Teacher of Oral Communication in English at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Havana University for a period of three years, and then for one year teaching Technical Translation tools to third year students of Mechanics, Electricity and Thermodynamics at a Polytechnical Higher Institute in Havana.

During this period, I also undertook a large number of translation and interpretetion missions for the Faculty of Foreign Languages in both national and international events taking place in our country, which suddenly made me realize I had a true passion for translation and interpretation. I've been working ever-since as a full-time freelance translator and interpreter and I have acquired a large and rather varied experience with large and mid-sized companies both in my country of origin and in France where I've been living and working for more than three years now, which has allowed me to be able to understand and interpret this language's each and every particular lexical and cultural nuance.

I have worked on projects on various fields, ranging from technology, soft and hardware development, to commercial, financial, and legal documents in general...

Having pursued the Doplôme Supérieur d'Etudes Françaises Modernes (option Littérature), I also specialize in the translation of literary, bibliographical and historical documents and reports, as well as in the translation and subtitling of films and documentaries.

I'm currently taking an up-grading course for professionals in business French, "Connaissance de l'entreprise et de son environnement socio-économique", in order to keep updated in the latest trends and tendencies in the french business world. I'm also preparing a Master in Translation Spanish-French-English at the ESIT (Ecole Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs), Université Paris III - Sorbonne Nouvelle; which will allow me to validate my University degree by a Frech diploma given and recognized by the French Republic. It's undoubtedly a huge occasion to improve my acquired knowledge and adapt new techniques and tools that have entered the translation and interpretation business.

Among my latest works, I've been working in-house as translator and proof-reader for a well known french Publishing Group (Groupe Fleurus). I've also carried out several translation jobs for the CIM (Conseil International de la Musique), a NGO located within Unesco's headquarters in Paris. My latest project is the creation of a French version for a website publication for Cuba Archive, a NGO based in New Jersey, USA.

Prices may vary according to the length of he project, and a previous analysis of the expectations as well as the activities of the project supplier is always established beforehand in order to ensure better accomplishment and maximum job quality.
