My favorite thing about being a translator is knowing I can make a difference in the way a company communicates with consumers in English. I translate from Italian and I have seen more than my share of Maccheroni English. I have been known to suggest edits to waiters as I read a menu, I talk back to the television when someone makes a grammar mistake ("centers on . . . not centers around"), and I also tend to always correct source material I am given in Italian. What can I say? I am a stickler for the written word.
A bit more about me: I am an Italian-American freelance professional, with a business background and a Master of Business Administration as well as a Master of Science in Marketing. I have more than 18 years of translation and editing experience.
