Source text - French Denicé était très réputé pour ses marchés aux cochons, les habitants étaient alors surnommés les "Lingueux" car ils étaient experts pour tâter les langues des animaux et déceler leurs maladies. Le marché aux cochons qui se tenait aux Maisons Neuves, a disparu en 1914. Une promenade autour du bourg vous permettra de visiter des hameaux pittoresques et la Chapelle-de Chevennes de style gothique flamboyant.
Translation - English Denicé was once famous for its Pig Market. The inhabitants of the village even had a special nickname, they were called 'Lingueux' because they were experts at rubbing the pigs' tongues to see if any of the beasts were suffering from illnesses. The Pig Market which was held at Maisons Neuves ceased trading in 1914. As you travel around the commune you will come across picturesque hamlets and be able to appreciate the flamboyant Gothic architecture of the Chapelle-de-Chevennes.

Translation History
Since living in and working in France (2001) I have combined teaching and translation work. I now aim to concentrate full time on translation work.
I have given many presentations in both languages and have done simultaneous translation work for non French speaking parents.
I have translated brochures and web sites and post news items for a current web site via a back office procedure.
I regularly translate letters, reports, references etc. for a school.
I have completed a tourist brochure for the Beaujolais tourist office.
I have also worked on descriptions of rental properties, short term leases, rental obligations, contractual agreements, product description, marketing material, product safety standards and a review of economic strategy.
My fields of interest and expertise are: tourism, travel, leisure, real estate, product description, literature, CVs, references, wine and culinary descriptions, education, history, geography, the environment, sustainable development.
