I am a qualified English into Spanish translator with more than 14 years of experience, including interpreting, editing, localization, transcreation, marketing copywriting, and teaching. Throughout my career, I have been involved in different multilingual environments combining in-house and freelance contracts. I have worked wholeheartedly to be able to communicate English thoughts and expressions into Spanish. I don’t translate word by word, I translate the meaning and the intention behind words from one culture to another, always keeping the translation as close as possible to the source text.

I am passionate about working with text and technology, but I also enjoy working in social contexts as an interpreter and educator. Quality, consistency and confidentiality frame each of my projects. I am currently the Bilingual Web Editor for TMSC and also a SME and Editor for Vschoolz. I have strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, and I enjoy working independently as well as in a team environment.

I hold a Master of Arts in Latin American Literature & Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude in Spanish Language, Literatures & Cultures with a minor in Education, both from University of Maryland, USA. I also have a BA in Translation & Consecutive Interpreting from the American Translator & Interpreter School, EATRI, Santiago, Chile. I am a member of the American Translators Association and the National Capital Area Translators Association.

I consider myself part of the multicultural community in this globalized society. Through my dual nationality (Chile-USA), I have had the opportunity to access diverse cultural knowledge systems. I do not only represent a language, but I understand and operate across multiple cultural contexts. I look forward to collaborating in exciting projects and I am always interested in hearing from colleagues or people interested in these fields.

Soy traductora, editora e intérprete (inglés-español) con más de 14 años de experiencia. Mis servicios incluyen localización, transcreación, redacción de contenido y enseñanza. Me he desarrollado en diversos ambientes multiculturales y he trabajado incesantemente para perfeccionarme en la comunicación de una cultura a otra; no traduzco palabra por palabra, sino que traduzco el significado y la intención que existe más allá de las palabras, siempre manteniendo la traducción lo más cerca posible al texto original.

Me apasiona trabajar con textos y tecnología, aunque también disfruto los entornos laborales sociales, ya sea como intérprete o profesora. Calidad, consistencia y confidencialidad enmarcan cada uno de mis proyectos. Actualmente, trabajo como Editora Bilingüe para el programa educacional Head Start y soy Editora para Vschoolz, una organización educacional virtual. Mi capacidad de liderazgo y gestión me ha llevado a desarrollarme en forma independiente, así como también, siendo parte de equipos en organizaciones y empresas.

Tengo una Maestría en Lengua Española y Literatura Latinoamericana y una licenciatura Magna Cum Laude en Lengua Española, Literatura y Cultura Hispana con mención en Educación, ambas de University of Maryland, EEUU. Además, soy licenciada de la Escuela de Traducción e Interpretación, EATRI, Santiago, Chile. Soy miembro del American Translators Association y el National Capital Area Translators Association.

Me considero parte de la comunidad multicultural en esta sociedad globalizada. Mi doble nacionalidad (Chile-EEUU) me ha permitido tener acceso a diversos sistemas de conocimientos culturales. Además de representar una lengua, también me desempeño efectivamente en contextos multiculturales. Me encuentro disponible para colaborar en nuevos proyectos y estoy continuamente interesada en comunicarme con otros profesionales y personas interesadas en campos relacionados.
