English-
The study of foreign languages has always been a passion of mine. At the age of eight, I took upon myself to study French with the aid of books and cassettes. Eventually, I went on to college, where I took many French courses that focused on the language, history and culture.

My interest in Italian came later in life. In 2001, I took a trip to the South of France, where I visited Nice, Cannes, Antibes, and Monte Carlo. While at the train station, I saw the schedule for a train that was headed to San Remo in Italy. I became excited by the idea of visiting another country on my European vacation, so I bought a ticket. The train transferred in a small city named Ventimiglia. Everything was now in Italian, and foreign to me. I became nervous and did not continue on to San Remo, but ventured into Ventimiglia. I did not like not knowing the language, so when I returned home, I began to study Italian.
