I am Shady Owaydat, a male freelancer translator. I am a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Majoring English Department, Mansoura University. I commenced practice in translation fields when I was in the High school. After I joined the Faculty of Arts, I studied translation as a part of my specialty. During my academic study, I was always translating articles and newspapers as a part of assignment at the faculty, through my academic study I gain more knowledge and became familiar with translation in different fields. I practiced in many translation fields, such as political, economical, marketing etc.
After graduation, I got my chance to travel abroad, my destiny was to travel Libya to work on the position of a legal translator at two of the biggest bureaus in Tripoli, as they were having transactions and dealings around of Great Jamahiriya and abroad. I occupied the post of a Senior Legal Translator for two years. My tasks were to translate the official contracts, agreements, brochures, offers etc by and between the Libyan bodies, corporations and the foreign ones. For example, The Embassy of Qatar in Tripoli, almost of Qatar's embassy's documents were translated by me, also I dealt with Italian, Russian and Turkish companies working in Libya in different fields. For example, Prodit Company of Italian Nationality, Yuksel Proje Libya of Turkish nationality etc. I also dealt with Libyan Governmental firms, such as Organization of Development Administrative Centers "ODAC".
Now, after the uprising in Libya, I came back to Egypt and I work for National Informatics Company, Egypt Branch, having its head office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I occupy the position of a technical writer. My tasks are represented in translating all technical manuals and offers from Arabic to English and Vice versa. My colleagues making programs and i shall do technical manuals of how to use it in both in Arabic and English Language.
My first contact with this website was through Dr. Moustafa Hegazy, who told me about Proz and how translation is more profitable and worthy through it.
My persistent and continuous studies in English as well as long practice through chats,watching movies and BBC made my English like native, therefore, I can translate easily from Arabic into English. Even though,
I worked as a legal translator during my employment in Libya with many big firms in Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Malta and Comoro Islands.
