I have been in the translation business for many years. In the past I was employed as a staff translator by major companies such as Duracell, Bovis and Babcock and therefore offer experience in a wide range of fields. My specialities are medical, construction, mechanical engineering, environment/waste management as well as legal documents. I can however tackle most subjects with the exception of electrical engineering. Although I mostly translate technical texts, I am often the preferred choice for publicity material such as image brochures, in-house magazines, copywriting, etc. I also enjoy making up slogans and puns.
I consider myself to be an adaptable and conscientious freelancer with a committed approach to deadlines. As I lived in Germany for 13 years and 2½ years in Paris, I have a very good knowledge of German and French. I have also built up an excellent range of scientific dictionaries and glossaries, often supplied by clients themselves. There is not much that I haven't come across some time in my career!
