Having both parents working for the government in the international area, I had the privilege to travel to many different countries and learn different languages. At the age of four, we moved to the United States; at home, we would speak Portuguese only.
I developed an interest for international affairs and went to the University of Maryland to graduate with a major in International Relations and a minor in English.
Translating documents and teaching English are more than just work, they are hobbies I get paid to do - that is very rewarding.
I have been proof reading and editing documents since I was a part of the newspaper in high school; I discovered my passion for teaching in college, but it started in high school when working as a volunteer for Student Service Learning. |
