I was born in Yokohama in Japan. After attending schools there, I prepared myself to get into a university in Britain. I passed examinations (GCEs) for this purpose in a state school in Edinburgh, and then I went to the University of London to a degree with honours. After the graduation I came to Germany to make a research in the Universität Mainz.
I worked for SAP AG in Walldorf full-time, to oversee the translation work done for us by external agencies. I have a working knowledge of SAP R/3 system and IT in general.
My association with Schott AG (previously Schott Glaswerke Mainz) has been a long one, in fact since 1987. I still translate for Schott today. Herr Uwe Tomschin wrote for me a letter of recommendation on 06.09.2007, which is attached to My Profile. He was then CEO of Schott - Kuramoto Processing Korea, and is now the managing director of SCHOTT forma vitrum AG, (St. Josefen-Strasse 20, 9001 St. Gallen, Switzerland, Phone: +41 (0) 71 274 42 96). Besides, I translated many Japanese medical texts for Dr. Weinig of the state Institut für medizinische und pharmazeutische Prüfungsfragen into German.
I translate often technical documents and software manuals into Japanese. I use TRADOS and TRANSIT, and also WORD for this purpose. Reports of my employees about the excellent quality of my translation work are available anytime, but they are often written in German.
Unfortunately my CV file is declared to be too big for the Proz.com system to upload, but will be available at your request. |
