My interest in English has started when I was very young, watching English movies with Slovene subtitles. Very soon, I started to notice poor translations and was becoming more and more aware of them. Later, about a year before I had to decide about my studies, I had the opportunity to accompany the national footbal team from Greece in world championship qualifications, which encouraged me to decide for translation studies. I started translating soon afterwards, but usually state that my experience started in 2005 when I started receiving several orders (still as a student).
In my free time, I like to hike, play badminton, basketball, and ride my bicycle, but my computer uses most of my time; it is a never-ending project for me which constantly requires upgrades/modifications/imporvements.
At the moment, our newborn is taking most of my free time (sometimes I also decide to sacrifice an extra hour for her) so I am experiencing the challenge of being a freelance translator and a parent at the same time - for now, it works fine :)
