Translation - English Abandoned mining sites in Colombia (AAMEA by their acronym in Spanish), have left behind profound negative impacts on a wide variety of fragile ecosystems, ranging from lower mountain rainforests to páramos (moorlands). The consequent transformations on their engulfing territories have become serious environmental and health hazards that pose great risks on the livelihoods of many Colombian communities, in the form of economic losses or the erosion of their immaterial wealth.
