How are they going to recover their lost popularity? Many Italian politicians are busy trying to go up the ladder of approval but it is a path thick with difficulties, often quite expensive. Let’s see which methods are most pursued.

Come recuperare la popolarità perduta? Molti politici italiani si stanno dando da fare per risalire almeno di qualche punto la scala del gradimento. Ma è un percorso irto di ostacoli, e spesso molto costoso. Vediamo quali sono i metodi più seguiti.
Esperti di immagine. Insieme ai posteggiatori abusivi e alle danzatrici del ventre, gli esperti di immagine sono l'unica categoria di lavoratori ancora sprovvista di un albo professionale. (Non per caso, molti di loro sono ex posteggiatori abusivi o ex danzatrici del ventre). Nonostante questo, molti leader politici spendono quasi tutto il loro stipendio per farsi spiegare da un esperto di immagine se sia meglio presentarsi in tv ben pettinati oppure con una merda di mucca sulla testa. Source text - English Recent attacks on American embassies and consulates in numerous Muslim countries are claimed to be irrational and undue reactions to a film portraying the Muslim prophet Mohammed in a degraded manner. The film is intentionally sacrilegious and incendiary toward Islamic beliefs and seems intended to add fuel to the rage of a Muslim world already incensed at the U.S. for its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, for destructive American drone attacks in Yemen and Somalia and multiple other nations, and one-sided support for Israel accompanied by platitudes for Palestinians. Thus, the roots of widespread anti-Americanism are much deeper than can be explained merely by recent events. Instead, Muslim fury can be traced to the ever increasing intervention by Washington in Muslim countries since the end of World War II. Prior to that, the U.S. was considered a non-interventionist, even anti-imperialist, friend in much of the region. Yet, even before the war ended President Roosevelt made a secret deal with the Saudi king to provide American protection (and ultimately arms as well, used primarily to suppress his own population) to the Saudis in return for unobstructed American corporate access to the recently discovered Saudi oilfields.

Il film e’ deliberatamente blasfemo e provocatorio nei confronti della fede Islamica e sembra inteso a infiammare la rabbia musulmana gia’ incandescente contro gli USA per le sue guerre in Iran e Afghanistan, per i devastanti attacchi aerei in Yemen, Somalia e molti altri paesi e per il sostegno unilaterale dato a Israele unito a una serie di luoghi comuni per i Palestinesi. Le radici di questo diffuso sentimento anti-americano sono percio’ piu’ profonde di quanto possa essere spiegato solamente dai recenti avvenimenti. Le cause della furia musulmana possono essere, invece, fatte risalire al crescente intervento di Washington nei paesi musulmani alla fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Prima di essa, gli Stati Uniti erano considerati un paese non interventista, perfino anti-imperialista, amico di quasi tutti. Tuttavia, ancora prima che la Guerra finisse, il Presidente Roosevelt strinse un patto segreto con il re dell’Arabia Saudita: l’America avrebbe fornito protezione ai Sauditi (e fondamentalmente anche armi per reprimere il proprio popolo) in cambio di libero accesso ai campi sauditi di petrolio scoperti negli ultimi tempi .
