There were two motives I have started translating; one was for volunteering heavy English book studying group, and the other was for one of my acquaintance's asking for help to edit her graduate thesis into English.
Later on, I realized that my admiration for the writers and their work had long been rooted since my early days. I studied, however, engineering for the practical reasons for my life, but afterall I came back.
I was excited when I found out that there is a way for combining my educational background with my inclination to working with letters and thoughts.
I have strong belief that "to know is to love" or vise versa. And that translating unknown, unreachable contexts into an accessible product for many people to understand much more easily is one way of meaningful contribution.
Through my year's translating experience, I have learned several keys to help and to guard me not to go over and not to go under the original texts, being fully respect the texts creator's intention and purpose, that which I absolutely keep in mind always.
