A native of the greater Boston area, my enthusiasm for learning the language and history of my ancestors led me to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French from the University of Houston then to move to France in 1986.
Over the following ten years, I held the position of English Language Trainer serving the private business sector in Paris. This experience enabled me to develop a customer-centered approach to doing business and to perfect my knowledge of French.
In 1996, I began my present career in Translation. This became the opportunity for me to make full use of my keen eye for accuracy and detail, to develop highly efficient research techniques and to become at ease in the use of translation tools and methodologies.
I have nearly three years of experience working as Senior English Translator in the Financial Communication Department of a Quoted Reinsurance Company on top of ten years’ experience in the same position for the reinsurance and global risk arm of the AXA Insurance Group. Over this span of time, I was responsible for the French-to-English translation of documentation and Internet content published by corporate management.
In addition to Reinsurance, I translated and continue to translate in fields that include: Finance, Accounting, Legal, Corporate Strategy, Investor Relations, Asset Management, Audit, Information Systems, and Human Resources.
In 2010, I began operating as a Freelance English Translator. Since that time, I have succeeded in broadening my customer base within the Reinsurance Industry and in seizing opportunities with companies operating elsewhere in the service sector. The latter has enabled me to hone my translation expertise, notably in the fields of Finance, Accounting, and Asset Management.
A strong sense of responsibility, professionalism and an ability to meet deadlines are the trademarks that my customers have come to expect from me.
