Source text - English Mallorca Public Transport website www.tib.org has been completely refreshed and tailored to tourist specific needs. Never before public transport of Mallorca was so visible than today as a result of this measure. The website has turned out from being a resident-focused website, towards a touristic welcome point both for Majorcan and tourists.
Translation - Catalan El portal del transport públic de Mallorca, www.tib.org, s'ha renovat completament i s'ha adaptat a les necessitats específiques dels turistes. Mai abans el transport públic a Mallorca havia estat tan visible com ara com a resultat d'aquesta mesura. Bio
I am an English and French into Spanish and Catalan translator aiming to develop my career within the communication sector. Although my interests are wide and far-reaching (education, retail and fashion, politics, industry, etc.), I have particular expertise in the tourism field. As a Translation Project Manager, I was responsible for some very important hospitality clients. I have thus a deep knowledge of the style and terminology preferences of the companies of this sector, as I have also worked as a freelance translator for some local companies (Eix Hotels and Hotels Viva). In addition, I am trained to postgraduate level (Postgraduate Degree in Proofreading and Language Assessment) and have experience in editing and proofreading, as well as in website testing.
As for my computer skills, during university and also in the past years I expanded my knowledge and confidence of some CAT tools, such as WordFast Pro, Trados Studio or OmegaT. I am also an advanced user of some Microsoft programs such as Internet Explorer, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am obviously open to any new software; rest assured that I am a quick learner!
Nevertheless, having good linguistic and tech skills is not enough to be a good professional: responding to enquiries quickly, delivering on time and being available for any follow-up questions is also of great importance. Throughout my career, I have been able to display my project planning skills, so this shouldn’t be a problem for me.
