Bio
ABOUT ME

I am currently a lead translation expert in Kenya and East Africa. I have been translating from English to Swahili and Dholuo for more than 15 years (8 years a freelancer and 7 years with Translators without Borders). I hold a masters degree in Swahili and Translation Studies from the
The University of Nairobi.  I have a very outstanding translation profile with a wide experience in translating medical, law, pharmaceutical, humanitarian, political, art, literature, science and technology, marketing, business and legal documents for Constitutional Implementation Commission (now defunct), Kenya National Human Rights Commission, World Vision, UNHCR among others. I also translated survey tools for KESWA, Folio, ICAP, Population Council of Kenya and Other international agencies. I am a translation expert who is a member of the East Africa Interpreters and Translators Association. In addition to being a Ph.D. student in Translation studies, I have published translation related articles in the International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences. The current short story anthology text that is used as a set book in teacher training colleges in Kenya has been translated by me and published by East African Educational Publishers in a collection titled “Vazi la Mhudumu na Hadithi Nyingine”. I am also a translation trainer who trains translation students in practical translations locally and internationally. He has trained 300 translators in Kenya and 58 internationally. Other than giving talks about translation technology, I have attended major international translation events to showcase my prowess in the translation field. I am familiar with may CAT tools such as SDL Trados, MemoW, Metcat among others. For more information refer to his detailed Curriculum Vitae
