About me
I am a skilful interpreter with very high professional standards and considerate attitude.
A dedicated, well-organised individual who has broad knowledge allowing to prepare
to conferences on various topics. I have interpreted at numerous corporate events, medical researchers’ conferences and European Works Council meetings. As a Metropolitan Police certified interpreter, member of National Register of Public Services Interpreters I have had countless opportunities to master up my skills in various stressful assignments such as interviews under caution and criminal trials. I am also a qualified ESOL/EFL teacher with a solid grounding in English grammar. So far I have worked with ESOL students aged ranging from 6 to 60. I have proven to be an excellent motivator who translates strategies into results.
My past experience as a social worker in London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham helped me build broad knowledge of professional English language. In that two year period
I attended numerous courses covering areas crucial in my role as an interpreter i.e. communication with people of different age groups, diversity, behaviour management etc.
I hold an up to date enhanced DBS (previously known as CRB) vetting. I have taken part in projects where confidentiality and precision in translation were the paramount: military, medical research, R&D and court proceedings. I had completed a two year long voice emission course during which I learned how to use my voice effectively and to sound clearly. I have also learned techniques of taking care of my voice.
I am a self-motivated individual; professionals I deal with often praise me for it. I take pride in delivering high quality service timely and in appropriate manner. My expertise roots from varied specialist backgrounds. Having studied chemistry I built strong technical background, whereas my social work experienced enriched my interpersonal skills.
Being a linguist is a very satisfying and rewarding role. Facilitating communication process and learning in depth in preparation to assignments are part of it. To me this is a natural way of progressing and evolving, which are crucial to me as a professional.
